What is myitlab:grader?
With Grader, you can assign a project from the GO! or Exploring Series end of chapter content or instructor resources, that your students will complete live in Word, Excel, Access, or PowerPoint and then submit for grading by the myitlab:grader engine. The results will be recorded in your myitlab gradebook and a variety of reports will be available to both you and your students providing detailed results.
Available for Office 2007 for the core levels of each application, Grader is now also available for Office 2010 for Word, Excel and PowerPoint in the GO! and Exploring Volume I editions.
Grader is designed to be used for both homework and assessment. It allows you to assess your students in the live Office 2007 applications, and have the projects graded automatically. It is designed to save you valuable time while providing your students with a real-world experience and detailed feedback to ensure they are learning the skills they need. With content for all four applications in Office 2007 – Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint – Grader is the most comprehensive, inclusive solution of its kind.
After several years of development, including rounds of Alpha- and Beta-testing and class tests, Grader was fully released for January 2010. Keep reading to see what your colleagues who have been using myitlab:grader are saying!

“This has saved me a tremendous amount of time in grading this semester.”
— Dana Johnson
North Dakota State University
“This program does a very good job of grading assignments and letting students know exactly where they need to improve. This is one of the greatest challenges of teaching online classes, providing useful feedback to students that are not with you in class.”
— Geoffrey Crosslin
Kalamazoo Valley Community College
“…a great way to measure success.”
— Gene Carbonaro
Long Beach City College
“This will allow instructors to assign more and grade less. As the department chair for my department, it will also allow for consistency in grading assignments…My class had very few problems if any with Grader. Also, they get immediate feedback. Often times, it takes a week or so to get all assignments graded when you do it manually.”
— Karla Rodie
Pikes Peak Community College
How do your colleagues describe myitlab:grader?
“It allows the student to work live in the application, and receive quick feedback on their work. It would free up instructor time to work with the students.”
— Jeannette Dix
Ivy Tech Community College
“The greatest thing since Apple Pie! …the highest quality product like it on the market today.”
— Steven Luse
Horry-Georgetown Technical College
“This is a tool that will allow the students to complete detailed assignments in the actual applications, submit it, and get immediate graded results. It also allows them to see and analyze their errors, fix them, and resubmit. It does not replace the instructor, but it will be one more tool the student will have to assess their knowledge and ensure the instructor the students are completing the objectives for the course.”
